Sometimes Mr E and I wonder who reads this blog. Who are you? What is your background? How did you find the blog?
I get lovely comments and emails from readers and it heartwarming to get a small insight into your lives knowing that you have taken the time to post a response or ask a question.
I originally started this blog back in Feb 2009 when I was right at the beginning of the wedding planning process. Only a handful of people read it back then {mainly my best friend and Mr E!} and I used to flick between being a private blog or open forum. I have learnt some much through this blogging experience, meeting some amazing people along the way and as a result this blog has evolved to what it is today. A place where we not only talk about weddings, but relationships, marriage, positive womanhood and God.
I love hearing from my readers and it's especially nice meeting people and they tell me they read the blog and are blessed - it's a real encouragement to me. So even though our wedding has come and gone, 'From Now Till I Do' is here to stay and I will continue to blog for as long as God gives me the grace and inspiration to do so.
In the spirit of community I would love to get to know you, my reader better...so in comments, please tell me:
What's your name? {Real or pseudonym}
Where in the world do you read the blog from?
Why do you read this blog?
Are you single, engaged, planning a wedding, married etc?
What do you enjoy reading about and what keeps you coming back?
What would you like to see more of?
If you've never commented before, now is your chance. Go on...please don't be shy! {Facebook readers come join in as well!}
For those of you new to the blog, welcome! You can stay updated on new posts by subscribing through your email or RSS.
Thank you for reading - I appreciate each and every one of you!
I think it is nice that you want to know your readers. I use the name Purpleicious Babe Daughter of Zion on blogs or any social network. I use purple because I totally love purple as in, am obsessed with it. DOZ because I consider that what I am today and who I will be tomorrow is because I have the greatest father in my life.. The King of Kings, He that is seated upon the eternal throne of grace and mercy and without him (dnt know where I will be and he has always had my back. (He has been there for us when our earthly father failed to fulfil his duties, King took the burden and dealt it with and got us through so many things. So he is my father because he promised and stood by it and am his daughter because I won’t let him down(by JESUS GRACE).
ReplyDelete2)Well I currently don’t have my own blog (I am planning to v.soon). I access ur blog from UK, Leicester. Originally from naij, moved to London and lived there for years, went to Uni in Leicester and just wanted to stay here.
3) To be honest, I read this blog because I am aspiring to get married one special day (Enjoy a beautiful marriage; I have the faith I will). I like the tips and advice offered to improve relationships with in-laws, to learn to put God at the centre, learn to respect the Head. Most importantly, having a godly relationship and maintaining that throughout marriage and beyond. The wise wisdom the blog passes encourages me to continue to develop, improve and work on myself, because you can never stop getting better (even though, at some point I thought I had arrived, lol). The thing is I found this blog through the website dedicated to you and ur hubby, clicked on it and I saw this blog. At the time, I was going through alot and I wanted to stop believing in marriage but seeing this site sort of encouraged me to understand that greats things happen and it still does, fact is I should not give up.( I love marriage and love weddings, I think it is a beautiful thing that a man and woman chose to share the rests of their lives together, come rain or sunshine, and putting God at the centre. In addition, declaring before God and man that this is who they want to be with, out of billions of potential men and women.
But, what they share is so special and they want to nature it for God and no matter what, chose to remain faithful to each other... So blogs like yours inspires me ( I believe in marriage, I believe in the joy marriage brings, the blessings attached to it, I believe in the ups and downs that strengthens the bond instead of breaking it, that if the couples chose to be positive. I also believe that marriage is good and it can be full of laughter, joy, peace and love no matter what, because GOD IS in it throughout and fear of God are present in the heart of both spouses. Never the less, I also believe in the unexpected circumstances that challenges ur faith and can throw u off track, either way ur blog makes it special and inspiring thats why I love reading it... I say love because it teaches and empowers me with knowledge, wisdom and discretion which is so powerful in this world...
4) Well I guess if you dont have a ring on ur finger u you single then I am single (not for long, Lol, this is faith talking)....
5) I guess have said it all in qs 3... in summary it is inspiring, encouraging and full of God's love to educate and teach....
6)I would like to keep seeing more wonderful stories that are full of challenges but inspiring. Creativity and consistency on marriage and love for God... More tips from spiritual, mental and physical forms on the dynamics of marriage... I believe your blog can only get better and better..
Sorry for the long essay, I do get carried away...lol..
Purpleicious Babe (DOZ) thanks for your comments today. I'm glad that you have been encouraged my the blog and hope you continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteStay blessed. x
Hey! I'll say first of all that I just found your blog last week and I've nearly caught up with all your posts! Moving on to your questions:
ReplyDelete1) My name is bisola. I tried to think of a really cool pseudonym but couldn't come up with any..lol.
2) I'm in the UK as well studying
3) I guess I read it because it's so full of wisdom. Over the last few weeks/months, my views on dating and courting and relationships in general have been challenged. I always thought the only way was the 'worldly way'. From your blog, I've learnt things like the importance of involving God in the relationship from day one. This should be obvious to any Christian but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have occurred to me before I read your blog.
Also, I really want to get married one day [soon!] so your blog has been like a step by step tutorial. For example, I always knew about 'the list' but one thing I never considered was myself, so if I find mr x with all those qualities would he be attracted to me? i have a lot of work to do!! I also now know more than ever the importance of prayer. I could go on but i'll spare you! lol
4) I'm very single! i'm only 21 so I feel like I shouldn't be stressing about marriage yet [right/wrong?].
5)I discovered a few days ago that [unintentionally] all the blogs I read have to do with marriage or relationships in general! So, I have concluded that I love reading about relationships. I think it helps me have realistic expectations. Also, I like to be prepared for things in general!
I keep coming back cuz I literally cant get enough! Your blog is such an easy read! I also love your 'in my kitchen' my cooking skills are nothing to write home about currently but I hope to change that soon!
I guess I keep coming back also cuz it gives me hope..I know that the God that did it for you will do it for me too at His own appointed time! Amen
6) I would love to see more recipes that you've tried! I'm encouraged to start to cooking proper naija food!
I would also love to hear more about married life/courting/dating..challenges that come with them all. And all advice is appreciated!
I love love LOVE your blog! keep up the goood work. Thanks for being such a blessing, in ways you don't even though. God bless you! xxx
